Plans & Pricing
EveryPlate delivers fresh local produce directly to the consumer’s doorsteps with an easy-to-follow (step-by-step) instructions card on how to properly prepare their meals. It is different than other meal kits on the market because of its sustainability and extremely low-cost subscriptions.
The brand has a simple subscription model with a flat pricing structure. Pricings are charged according to the number of servings ordered and each serving costs $4.99, and shipping comes at an extra charge. Plans are based on the number of people that the delivery is for, there are just two plans available; Two People and Four People. You can choose your meals in the following combinations:
- 2 people, 3 meals per week ($29.94 per week excluding shipping)
- 2 people, 4 meals per week ($39.92 per week excluding shipping)
- 2 people, 5 meals per week ($49.92 per week excluding shipping)
- 4 people, 3 meals per week ($59.88 per week excluding shipping)
Once you’ve selected your plan, you are urged to create an account and provide some basic information such as your name, phone number, and address. Afterward, you can choose what meals you want to be delivered.
If you would like to browse through the recipes, click on the Weekly Menu. Here, you can view menus for the next 3 weeks and select from up to 12 dishes every week. Recipes are all catered towards American comfort food. Consumers can look up the cooking times of dishes on the website and select a meal that fits in their schedule. Cooking times vary, the majority are under 30 minutes, but you can find meals that take 35, 40 and 45 minutes to prepare.
There is also a Premium option which costs an additional $2.99 ($7.98 per serving). It is targeted towards customers who are looking to elevate their dinner experience by cooking meat-based dishes.
The meals are easy to cook and the menu is simple; however, some people might find it quite basic as it does not offer any special diets such as Paleo, Keto, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and more. If you are a vegetarian, then it is best to consider looking elsewhere as the company does not specifically cater to vegetarians as shown by its limited selection.
Payments can be made using all major debit and credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, and also through PayPal. Payments for the first box is charged upon checkout while consumers have to pay 4 days before the next scheduled delivery.
Each meal box comes with all the ingredients needed to make a delicious dish, minus pantry items like salt, pepper, and oil. The ingredients are packed carefully and insulated to maintain their freshness when delivered to your door. It is recommended that you store them in the refrigerator and consume within one week of delivery. Since the brand does not provide special meals, you need to review each recipe’s ingredients before ordering in case of any allergens.
The company works closely with local farmers for their fresh vegetables and poultry. EveryPlate prioritizes high-quality ingredients by working with recognized suppliers like Colavita, Maple Leaf Farms, and more. The brand changes suppliers every week to outsource the best possible produce to their subscribers. However, EveryPlate does not procure organic and superfood ingredients.
EveryPlate refrigerates all the ingredients before shipment and assembles the meal kit on the day of delivery which ensures that its food remains crisp until it reaches your doorstep. The delivery boxes contain liners with insulation and ice packs to keep the produce cool for up to 48 hours. The company modifies the packaging according to the different seasons to ensure optimal freshness.
The company delivers to most of the United States; however, you can check whether or not the service is available in your area by entering your zip code. You can select the date of your delivery, they are carried out every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with all the necessary details for tracking your order.
In the Weekly Menu section, you will find that all of their dishes are either American comfort food or dishes that have been adopted by the States over the years including Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese and more. You can also check their website for more details about the dishes such as its cooking time, ingredients, allergens, and nutrition per servings. This can also help consumers to decide which food items might not be appropriate for them or their health. Each recipe comes with thorough instructions on how to cook the meal with pictures of the cooking process for inexperienced home cooks.
EveryPlate has expanded their menu from offering 8 dishes when they first started to 12 different dishes each week. These dishes are specially curated by chefs and are rotated on a regular basis, so consumers are prevented from being offered the same menu.
Organic & Sustainability Focus
The company focuses a lot on sustainability and ensures that their boxes and separators are 100% curbside recyclable. They also provide information on how to recycle other materials that come with the box i.e. the gel icepacks and box liners.
To recycle the gel ice packs, simply cut a small corner of the pack and empty the gel content into the trash before recycling the rest. For box liners, cut the top off the plastic film and dispose of the cotton interior before recycling the film.
The company keeps the packaging to the bare minimums to reduce costs, with less plastic and other packaging components making recycling much easier.
