There are two plans Harmony offers for you to choose from, Basic and Total Care. While the Basic Plan appears to be the cheaper option, the plan’s pricing will vary for each consumer and depend on the amount of coverage you require and where you live. Basic Care Plan:

This plan costs $33.25 per month or $399 annually. It protects your home appliances covering plumbing stoppage, plumbing system, water heaters, electrical systems, whirlpool bathtubs, stove/oven/range, sump pump, cooktop, built-in microwave, garbage disposal, dishwasher, trash compactor, garage door opener, ductwork, and ceiling exhaust fans. 

Total Care Plan:

This is Harmony’s most popular plan amongst the customers as it protects all of the appliances and goods in your household. It costs $41.50 per month or $499 per year, and covers everything mentioned in the Basic Care Plan with the addition of a heating system, air-conditioning system, refrigerator, clothes dryer, and clothes washer.

These plans have a minimum of 12 months contract period, and you can pay monthly payments. However, paying in full for a year will help you save more. 

Professional Contractor Network

Harmony Home Warranty has an in-network contractor which means they have their technicians and installers to take care of any problems or breakdowns. All their contractors go through a stringent process of selection. Harmony Home Warranty selects its service contractors by interviewing them thoroughly on their expertise and experience, and they must be fully licensed and hold certifications in their area of repair. It also means that the policyholders cannot hire their own technicians to fix the item. 

Claims Process

The company’s warranty plans provide comprehensive protection against substantial costs of replacement or repairs of adequately maintained appliances and major systems. A policy owner calls a 24/7 Harmony Home Warranty’s claim center and pays a modest deductible or service call fee for each claim.

Harmony Home Warranty claims processing and fee regulations align with general industry practice. You pay a $75 service fee each time you use their service or file a claim. There is a 30-day waiting period after purchasing a plan before homeowners can make a claim. When you file a claim, Harmony Home Warranty does not have any requirement for annual maintenance records or home inspection to provide service. However, they reserve the right to accept or deny service in case your systems or appliances fail because you could not keep up with the routine maintenance.

Repair & Replacement Policies

The repair and replacement policies are different for each system and appliances, customers are expected to educate themselves and understand what is included in their coverage and what is not.

For example, the coverage for ACs includes mechanical components and parts of two-ducted central AC systems. They should be for residential use and must not exceed five tons. They do not cover windows units, electronic air cleaners, humidifiers, non-ducted wall units, gas air conditioning systems, and mini-split wall units. Plus, there is a coverage limit of $1500 for Air conditioning. 

As for heating systems, it needs to be a steam and hot water heating system, or it can be a central-duct gas/air/oil/electric heating system. The coverage also includes burners, controls, blower fan motors, thermostats, wiring, heating elements, etc. 

In terms of a plumbing system, coverage includes breaks and leaks of water, gas, drains, vent lines, and waste lines. The company also covers pump assemblies and built-in whirlpool motors in the bathtub. There is a coverage limit of $500 per claim. 

Harmony Home Warranty covers all parts and components of an electrical system except direct current systems and wiring, batteries, exterior components and wiring, lighting fixtures, transmitters, and low voltage systems. 

The company covers all parts and components that are vital for the functionality of your home appliances. However, they do not cover racks, rollers, glass, interior lining, clocks, dials, knobs, lights, filters, shelves, etc.
